Supporting Integrated and Comprehensive Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation in Africa - Cameroon- DELETEDetails
The 2009 Human Development Index rank for Cameroon is 153. Cameroon has signed and ratified the UNFCCC. Cameroon’s diverse topographic features make the impact of climate change variable. The northern regions are arid while the southern parts are humid and equatorial (due to the presence of a dense equatorial forest). Precipitation is expected to remain stable in the southern zones. It is anticipated that Cameroon will experience changes in temperature which will affect the regeneration of water resources, in the tropical forest, soil fertility and sea level rise for instance. Cameroon has not yet prepared a NAPA (National Adaptation Programme of Action) but is working closely with UNDP towards this goal.
